Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I started babysitting when I was 14yrs old. I learned from my mother and elders in my immediate community. I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge alone from this experience. I also helped with assisting with younger siblings and extended family members. I have over thirty plus years of being a mama and yimiyah (grandma). I experience 5 births and have been present and involve with over 30 births plus in this lifetime.
What led you to become a Doula?: I always wanted to be a midwife. Opportunity never presented itself or should I say life choices took priority. Now that life has settled, I'm making time to pursue me.
