Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I think that life and every life lesson I’ve learned in the pass thirty years along with every job I’ve had has prepared me to treat people with kindness and respect. I’ve learned every life, off adults and babies, are precious and should be treated that way.
What led you to become a Doula?: I’ve been interested in birth work my entire life. Growing up I wanted to be an OB/GYN and life has taken me an alternate route and given me the wonderful opportunity to become a doula.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
That I’m kind, funny, and supportive with a sweet spirit.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: The ProDoula handbook and Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way
What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: I get so excited and I just want to help! When I see pregnant women I just want to be there for them, feed them, rub, and take care of them. Every time I see a baby I fall in love all over again. I can hold a baby all day and take in that new baby smell.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: A listening ear and a nap!
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Call the Midwife
What is your favorite place to vacation?: Anywhere new! I love passport stamps.
What is your favorite food?: Any kind of pasta
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Cuddling with my baby.
Who lives in your house?: My family.
