Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have been in logistics, administrator and executive assistant work for many years. These roles combine listening to and intuitively anticipating clients' needs. Being a positive, non-anxious presence has been part of my professional experience.
What led you to become a Doula?: As friends began having babies, I was introduced to a better way to birth -- that birth isn't like the panicked screaming on TV. Birth can be radiant, empowering, powerful and relaxed, especially when adequately supported. I was fascinated by birth and wanted to support women toward a more hopeful way to birth.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
Others have told me that being a doula makes so much sense — it fits into my nature of wanting to see people live into their highest, best selves; helping them through transitions; observant, intuitive listening and understanding.
