Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a mother of two, helped my sister through her birth and the 9 days in the NICU and all that followed. I’ve been a foster parent and have always had a compassionate heart.
What led you to become a Doula?: My sister’s birth and how well I handled it. I stayed calm and did an amazing job helping all involved.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
People have said that I am compassionate, kind, generous and helpful.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin, child birth education classes at my local hospital.
What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: My first thought is that I am happy for them and I hope they find as much fulfillment and enjoyment with being a parent as I do.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: I think the best gift I can give them is peace of mind. I can give them knowledge and empowerment which leads to peace.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: The Office
What is your favorite place to vacation?: Anywhere warm which great beaches.
What is your favorite food?: Thai Food
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: I love to spend time with my family. I love cooking and eating good food, watching my kids play sports and being with friends.
Who lives in your house?: My husband and I and our two kids Parker and Rae.
