Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Mother of six children (four whom were born at home) and an aunt to 20. I assisted my daughter with her first birth and provided aftercare. I also was an Early Childhood Teacher and homeschooled all of my children.
What led you to become a Doula?: Before and after the birth of my first grandchild I realized that I would enjoy caring for other young mothers and their infants.

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: Joyful, peaceful thoughts of the special and sweet times of my own pregnancies. Along with the fond memories I also recall the challenges of being a new mom and how vital a quality support team is.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: A listening ear (heart) Encouragement
