Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have been blessed to have run my own Daycare as I got older. During this time I decided to become a Massage Therapist and went to CNI College in Orange, CA to help people feel better after a long day of work or to feel great on a pamper day! I have been blessed to have assisted 30 births in California and start up my Birth Doula Business in Colorado!
What led you to become a Doula?: After working as a Massage Therapist for two years. I knew I wanted to get my Certificate in Prenatal and Postnatal Massage. At this time my niece and her husband announced they were expecting their first baby! I was so excited. I started looking into becoming a Midwife and different methods of Birthing Techniques. I fell in love with the Bradley Method. I had a great instructor that had asked if I had looked into becoming a "Birth Doula"? Which I hadn't heard of tell She shared it with me! that being a Massage Therapist would benefit me as a Birth Doula, because the moms really need their massages with all the changes they go through in the 9 months of pregnancy. Since that day I have been blessed to have assisted 30 births in California and start up my Birth Doula Business in Colorado! I fell in love with this gift, that I get to give to families, over and over!
