Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My background is in early childhood, so becoming a postpartum doula really felt like a natural transition. I'm also a former nanny. and I'm a mom - my first hand experience has been hugely helpful for supporting new families with their babies.
What led you to become a Doula?: My son’s birth and my transition to motherhood was where I discovered my connection to doula work. It all came together from that point!
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I am very organized, great at brainstorming and problem solving and have a good sense of humor.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: Other moms - they have the best and most practical advice! I also really like Aha Parenting and The Whole Brain Child book.
What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: When I see a pregnant or new mom, I always hope that they're getting support and I always feel sympathetic to the struggles and joys of parenting.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Peace of mind and non-judgmental support!
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Gilmore Girls
What is your favorite place to vacation?: Anywhere - I love to travel. I have a goal to visit as many National Parks as possible!
What is your favorite food?: Tacos!
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Visiting our neighborhood farmer’s market with my family, having a meal with friends, and relaxing and reading.
Who lives in your house?: Myself, my husband, and our son. We also have 3(!) lazy cats.
