Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I became passionate about birth after the birth of my first daughter. I struggled all through my pregnancy with sickness and later had her at 37 weeks via emergency cesarean. I felt overwhelmed with guilt. I felt like I wasn’t a good enough mother to birth my baby vaginally or even breastfeed her. I dealt with months of depression. As soon as I started to emotionally recover from her birth I became pregnant with my second daughter. I knew right away I wanted a different birth. I spent months researching, calling my local hospitals and doctors, and joining support groups to help me achieve the birth I wanted. On May 13th, 2015 I successfully had my second daughter via VBAC. It was the healing birth I needed. Also, in that moment I realized how important my cesarean was to me. Without my birth experiences I would have never found my passion for supporting women.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I am a great listener, I put others needs above my own, and I do not pass judgement on others.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: My favorite would have to be VBACfacts.com. VBAC’s are very near and dear to my heart, as I had to fight for my own VBAC. This resource is not only helpful for mothers seeking a VBAC but just general birth information.

What is your favorite food?: Chimichanga
