Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: From 2007-2015 I worked as a private nanny for families with children primarily ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. I have raised 4 kids of my own. I have attended many births over the last decade with a wide range of experiences.
What led you to become a Doula?: Elizabeth’s love for childbirth began early in her life. Her own birth and postpartum experiences is where her passion began. Supporting women and families for more than a decade prompted her to pursue a career as a Certified Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Postpartum Placenta Specialist. ProDoula fueled the flame and helped Elizabeth learn the valuable skills she needed to attune to her clients and be the very best she can be in her career supporting families, as a mother, wife, and member of her community. Elizabeth has helped care for newborn babies and children all the way through the wildest of teenage years! Others call on Elizabeth for her honest, straight forward, lighthearted, down to earth approach in all things.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
“I know she truly cared about me and making sure I had exactly what I wanted. She supported me 110% in any decision I made during my pregnancy and labor. I truly believe the birth of my son wouldn’t have gone the way I wanted it to without her. ” Love Letter From~ D. Clark, Fernandina Beach, FL
“When Elizabeth arrived, the entire atmosphere changed from one with anxiety, uncertainty and a little fear to be honest, to one of assurance, calm and safety.” Love Letter From~ Sherman W., Jacksonville, F

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: When I see a pregnant woman my thoughts immediately go to the circle of life. How incredibly strong and beautiful she is carrying a life inside of her. When I see a new mom I think she is so much stronger than she knows and that I wish every mom and dad knew that all they ever need to know to raise their children is already inside of them, the rest is trial and error.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: As a Doula, the best gift I can give a new family is to be supportive in any way they need, that can look different for different families, but just knowing they have a Doula who is non-judgmental and fully supportive of them and their choices is a fabulous gift!
