Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I've done training with ProDoula for my certification. Beyond that, I've had four babies of my own and am always the person friends and family call for advice about pregnancy or baby related concerns.

What led you to become a Doula?: I love babies. Always have. I've noticed a trend in newly postpartum mothers lately, they don't always get the support or information they need to feel comfortable and confident in themselves as a parent. I am hoping to change that.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

Since I announced I was becoming a doula I’ve been told I’m brave, determined, and knowledgeable. Loyal, passionate, and forthcoming were words that have been used to describe me in the past.

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: I love Mama Natural, they have a pregnancy week-by-week and a newborn week-by-week that I've found to be extremely helpful.

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: Firstly, I get really excited. Secondly, I want to help, in anyway I can. Whether it be with advice, emotional support, or helping carry some grocery bags.

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Knowledge, comfort and confidence!

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Tv show: Bones. Movie: The Day After Tomorrow.

What is your favorite place to vacation?: I love to go camping!

What is your favorite food?: Seafood

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: On my days off, I sleep in, take a long hot bath, and lounge around with my family. I love spending time with my family but having a few hours of alone time really helps to "reset" my mind and body.

Who lives in your house?: Myself, my husband and our four children.
