Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: The births of my own four children (including one set of twins!), and of course being a mother and showing them unconditional love and support – both things that transfer into doula work.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have been in love and fascinated with all things pregnancy, birth, newborn, and the postpartum period ever since the pregnancy of my first child. There is nothing better than being able to turn my passion for supporting families through the pregnancy and birth of their child into a career.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

“You’re a great mother.”, “Gabrielle was ‘my doula’ before she was a doula or I knew I needed a doula. Such great support.”

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: KellyMom.com, Heart & Hands by Elizabeth Davis, The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger,

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: Beautiful, Exhaustion, Blessing, Peaceful, Challenging

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Non-judgmental support

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Doctor Who

What is your favorite place to vacation?: I haven’t been on a vacation since 2012! Someday I would love to go to New Zealand and see Hobbiton!

What is your favorite food?: Chocolate

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Doing something fun with my husband – some type of activity, or just watching a movie.

Who lives in your house?: My high school sweetheart husband (Ryan), our four boys (Hunter, Axel, Griffin, and Gus), and our cat (Sylvester, who we mostly call “Boy”).
