Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have been a certified nurses assistant for 14 years. I have worked in every medical setting you can as a CNA My favorites were always mom and baby, labor and delivery and nursery. I'm also a mother to three great kids. My mom was a labor and delivery nurse and a midwives assistant. So you could say I've been surrounded by birth and birth workers majority of my life.
What led you to become a Doula?: I wanted to support women as they were learning how to become mothers. I wanted to support women during labor and help them navigate the pain and emotions and reach their desired outcome. I wanted to help make birth and postpartum positive happy times.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I have a great attitude. I’m a hard worker. I’m calm under chaos. I’m very nurturing and kind. I’m nonjudgmental. If I say I’m going to do something I do it. People feel comfortable talking to me.
