Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I've always loved working with moms and babies as a sitter and as a friend. Working in the medical field has prepared me mentally, and being a mom has prepared me emotionally.
What led you to become a Doula?: As a Paramedic for 12 years, helping moms birth in the back of an ambulance is amazing. They are mostly terrified, but helping to make their experience and birth story positive is very rewarding.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I am definitely the go-to girl for opinions and advice. My friends would probably describe me as an easy going, laid back hippie, which I consider a compliment!
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: I enjoy reading blogs and following like minded social media accounts. Real and honest experiences, both good and bad, goes a long way!
What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: Such joy and beauty! Their body is going to make amazing changes and the reward is beyond a blessing!
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Confidence! The first few months with baby can be exhausting! Staying positive and asking for help is key! Taking time out for self care is also important.

What is your favorite place to vacation?: Lake Placid, New York
What is your favorite food?: Ice cream!!
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: When I have off I love to stay home and play with my littles all day. We are a homesteading family and try to make chores fun! Playing and caring for our animals keeps us busy most of the day. We also love to swim!
Who lives in your house?: My family includes my hard working Husband, my free spirt 3 year old earth angel, and my super smart and sassy 8 year old. It's a beautiful madhouse
