Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Having given birth four times, myself and going through typical pregnancy symptoms. I also had some serious diagnosis and complications. My duties as a Case Management Specialist will give me access to programs and assistance if the mother or child needs it.
What led you to become a Doula?: I attended a Community Health Worker conference in October of 2022. There was a presentation about the disparities of Black, Brown and Indigenous women when it came to receiving prenatal and worse, the mortality rate of births. After the presentation, I called my supervisor and told her I wanted to train to be a Doula! About a month later my request was granted. I want to serve the community I work and live in with compassion and an unbiased attitude.
