Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have mostly worked with families welcoming there second or third child that are in need of a second set of hands because one of the children is special needs. This notes I have worked with first time mothers on those nights when they just need and ear or a shoulder. Being the oldest of five I have found a special insight with special needs as I have a sibling that was effected by the issues of sensory boundaries.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have found that sometimes it is that one person that can change a world with just being helpful. I hope to be that person for many families.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I have been told many times that I can brighten a room or that my up beat attitude is catching.

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: I have found that the Triple P Parenting and Uniqely Human by Barry M Prizant have both been wonderful resources.

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: I first think of the joy that has just been grated to that family.

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: If I could give this gift to every new birth mom it would be someone to let them know they are rocking it as a mom.

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: I love to watch Firefly and anything StarTrek.

What is your favorite place to vacation?: So far in life I have not gotten to see all that I wish to and hope to one day get to see all of the world, good, bad and different.

What is your favorite food?: I would have to say that my favorite food is a meat only Pizza.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: I like to spend a day off working with my hands, like clay or sewing or writing

Who lives in your house?: After some bumps in the road I have found myself back home with my mother.
