Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I am a mother of three and have personal breastfeeding experience. I worked for the Sultan School district for 5 years as a paraeducator and volunteered at the school at at our church extensively. I am a certified Dona birth doula and a certified Lamaze childbirth educator.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have a passion for improving birth and birth experiences for all women. My hope is that my presence and knowledge leads to better care and outcomes; prenatally, during birth and postpartum. I had a wonderful friend work as my doula back in 1999 and was inspired by her kindness and helpfulness.

Jocelyn has a presence about her that makes her feel like your friend’s cool mom who always has cookies in the oven and gives really good hugs. Like she’s not your mom, but a really close second. That was exactly what I was looking for in a doula, and Jocelyn totally fulfilled all my needs. When my little one was rushed to the NICU right after birth, having her there to hold my hand while my husband went with the baby was truly helpful. I don’t know what I would have done without her. Plus she has a good sense of humor and I find that important in a doula! Thanks for everything Jocelyn, you are a star!!
