Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I'm a mum of 3 kids. I studied midwifery and followed succesfully a doula certification training in the Netherlands (with JJ Doula). Since March 2017 I'm a certified Labour Doula in the Netherlands and a member of the Dutch Association of Doula's. I'm starting a cross certification procedure of Prodoula in April 2018. I followed the postpartum & infant care training in January 2018 and I am excited to start!
What led you to become a Doula?: Before becoming a doula I studied Chemistry and worked for 17 years on environmental quality topics. When I turned 40 I made a big career decision and started with my midwifery studies. During this time, I realized that I wanted to be there as a support person for the whole pregnancy and not just the birth. I want to build relationships with my clients and to ensure that they are fully prepared for the arrival of their new born. I started my training as a doula and have found my niche. It's the most rewarding job i have had (besides being a mum).
