Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I received my Registered Nurse (RN) license in October 2012 and my dream came true when I worked as a Mother Baby RN at Winnie Palmer Hospital, a multifaceted hospital specialized in high-risk births that is solely dedicated for Women & Babies. During my time at the hospital I was crossed trained in caring for postpartum mothers, newborns and provided education and support to breastfeeding mothers. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience both personal and professional. My firsthand experience with caring for my 33-week gestation premature daughter, has given me the extra experience and confidence to help families who have premature newborns.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have always had a love for babies since I was a little girl, so much that I decided to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse and work with mothers and newborns. When my daughter was born prematurely I put my career on hold temporarily. After the birth of my second child, I longed to care for mothers and their newborns again. I decided to expand my skills and pursued a career as a Postpartum Doula, where I could work one on one with mothers and create a bond with the families as I nurture and guide them through their transition to parenthood.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

“Judith has such a caring and big heart, and shines through her work and her personal life.”
“You would be so perfect at being a Doula.”
“I would have loved having a nurse like you.”
