Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My own two pregnancies and birthing experiences definitely influenced and ignited my passion for birth work as a profession. I have a compassionate, empathetic and open-minded nature which helps me see eye-to-eye with people in many different walks of life. I recognize that every person and experience is different and my ability and willingness to support people regardless of their birth preferences or circumstances is one of my strengths.
What led you to become a Doula?: My own experience with a doula during my second pregnancy is what inspired me to become a birth professional. My doula(s) offered me a level of education and support that I wish I would have had with my first pregnancy; they helped me feel confident and empowered in my body and in my decision-making, and helped me feel knowledgeable about the process of birth even though I had already gone through it once before. After such a positive experience, I felt so strongly that more people deserved to have this level of support and that I was passionate about seeing to it that I could make a difference in the lives of others during such an important and transitional time in their life.
