Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I spent three years working with pregnant women at a crisis center offering early pregnancy counsel and medical information as well as pregnancy support through two years post partum. I also have a range of personal birth experiences including hospital OB, hospital midwife, and homebirth midwife.
What led you to become a Doula?: My passion for serving and empowering women through positive birth options developed slowly. Having six births that ranged from unsupported hospital births to empowering homebirth and everything in-between made me realize the importance of knowledge and support during labor. Also working with underprivileged women experiencing unsupported pregnancy opened my eyes to the vast need for birth workers in my community. Every woman deserves to be loved and supported during pregnancy, birth and beyond. Providing this love and support is my passion!
