Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Before finishing my degree in Creative Writing, I taught at a school for kids with disabilities, specifically ASD. I believe empathy is the most important trait you can possess, especially in this field. Aside from being a birth and postpartum doula, I’m also a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor.
What led you to become a Doula?: When I got pregnant in 2020, I fell in love with learning about birth and postpartum. Friends starting coming to me for advice and recommendations, and I slowly realized that what really filled me up was sharing what I had learned, through reading and experience, with others. In a way, I was acting as a doula before I ever completed my certifications. I finally decided to take the plunge, expand my knowledge, and make it official.
