Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I studied Elementary Education and Birth-Kindergarten Education at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC. Before becoming a doula and mother, I was a career nanny for over a decade. I have worked exclusively with children and families for 19 years as a child care worker, sitter, mother's helper and professional nanny & household manager.

What led you to become a Doula?: Best of Both Worlds was "born" after becoming a wife and mother while still working as a full time nanny. I realized that I too needed some support after having my son. Because of this, it was time to move into a new phase of my career. Learning about doulas and fourth trimester care renewed my passion to help new families thrive and existing families make a smooth transition with their new additions. I became a doula to continue to help children and families in a much more personal and fulfilling way.
