Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Personal experience in a hospital with many interventions, a hospital with low intervention, a stand alone birth center and pre-term birth experience. Classes in fertility, the biology of conception and pregnancy, and birth. Also, wonderful training by ProDoula.
What led you to become a Doula?: After having five children of my own and attending the birth of my nephew I knew one thing: Birth is amazing! I have always found the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and birth fascinating. Support is so vital to positive birth experiences and supporting people is what I do. And since my philosophy has always been to do hard things and do what you love, birth work is where I landed with no regrets.
