Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My background is in human resources and business administration. While many would not consider this background beneficial to the birth field, many of my clients have found it highly valuable as I am able to bring useful information to the experience of planning for their new arrival. Having an understanding of how to juggle work leave, benefits, financial planning and work/life balance is invaluable to expecting parents. I am also a Certified Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga Instructor and Baby Planner.

What led you to become a Doula?: My own personal experience of pregnancy and birth led me to this work. I am on a mission to help support and educate mothers in all the ways I wished someone had done for me so they feel empowered to take on the journey of motherhood with confidence.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I have been told by clients that I bring a strong yet calming energy to the birth space.

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: The First Forty Days, The Mommy Plan, and Popsugar Moms

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: After I secretly squeal on the inside (if they only knew the back flips I was doing in my head), I then think about who they have supporting them on their journey through pregnancy and motherhood.

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Confidence and the feeling that their wishes and decisions are supported no matter what they may be.

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: I am a Netflix fanatic: Orange Is the New Black, Crown, Easy, The Killing, House of Cards

What is your favorite place to vacation?: Spain

What is your favorite food?: Pretty much anything my husband cooks but if I had to pick one it would have to be his lobster caviar with crime fresh pizza - talk about delicious!!

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Binge watching movies with my husband and my family.

Who lives in your house?: My rambunctious four children, my amazing and talented husband, our two furry kids (Maximus and Petite), and myself.
