Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have volunteered at a pregnancy center and also worked at a birthing center with a midwife. I got to meet and work with families from various backgrounds and different approaches to birth/family life.
What led you to become a Doula?: I became interested through seeing my mom and other women go through pregnancy when I was a young girl. I also attended some of my mother's births when I was a teenager. I would look up articles/read books related to pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
People describe me as confident, caring, calming, supportive, nurturing, spunky and able to anticipate other’s needs before they express them.

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: I think about how she is doing/feeling both physically and emotionally. I hope she has the support she needs and confidence to voice her wants/needs.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Unbiased support, a listening ear and instilling confidence in their abilities as a new mom. Along with being there in the moment in the way they need.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Castle and The Mentalist (back when they were on TV). I love a variety of movies.
What is your favorite place to vacation?: Somewhere with snow!
What is your favorite food?: Tacos, Sushi, Brownies, Pie & Ice Cream.
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: With my husband doing something together or just talking/relaxing.
Who lives in your house?: My Husband and I.
