Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have over 20 years experience working in child development. I currently work in Early Intervention as a Developmental Therapist. I have a MSEd from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Human Development & Family Studies from Howard University. I am also Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. And last but not least, I am a (pre-pandemic) homeschooling mother of two.

What led you to become a Doula?: I became interested in birth work ever since I became a mother. I want to provide the non-medical, culturally-congruent birth support that I was longing for when I was pregnant. And given my credentials and experience, I'm confident that I can be that support for positive birth experiences.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

Much of the feedback that I have received from many of the families that I have worked with over the years is that I helped to make them feel more confident about parenting and supporting the needs of their child.
