Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I also hold a Master’s degree in Science specializing in occupational therapy I currently hold an active license and still practice occupational therapy
What led you to become a Doula?: I’ve been interested in birth work since I was a very young child. I attended my first birth at the age of 10 because I wanted to be an OBGYN at the time. Through my schooling, I had hoped to use my degree to focus on and serve families in the perinatal period, but other opportunities presented themselves and I accepted those. When my oldest son was born, I hired a doula and then it clicked. This is how I could take my passion and serve in the way I so desperately wanted to serve. Being a doula is a true passion for me. Being there to support a woman and witness her welcome life never gets old.
