Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: As a little girl I was fascinated with babies. As I grew up, I found myself working in early childhood education and loving every moment. When you are taking care of kiddos and watching them grow in their physical and mental abilities it can be so rewarding but also challenging at times. The love I have of taking care of people flows over into my doula work. I have been a labor doula for over 18 years and in that time I have supported many families through triumph, loss and challenging times. My desire to support families through one of the most pivotal times in their lives has been truly humbling. I am grateful for every single one of them.

What led you to become a Doula?: It was actually my own personal experience with my first birth that led me to find out about doulas. I felt in my heart that there had to be a better path through birth and being supported. Don't get me wrong my husband was great but I felt that there had to be someone to calmly hold the birth space....and that's when I found doulas! I went on to have two more kiddos with that loving support. I was originally certified through another organization and upon needing recertification I found ProDoula and I haven't looked back.
