Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I worked with my dearest friends and cousins through their pregnancy and birth experience and absolutely loved doing it. That was the cue for me to pursue birth education. Plus I'm a mom myself.
What led you to become a Doula?: Although we have a wonderful family support system in India, the new mother goes through so much confusion and so many questions and doubts throughout the process. I want to play a part and help the women with her new role during and after pregnancy. So many of her pains and discomforts go undiscussed and unattended. I want to support these women and make a difference in nurturing their physical and emotional health.
