Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have obtained valuable experience in early childcare, through various volunteer and community service experiences working with mothers and children, and I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health Science at Boise State University.
What led you to become a Doula?: My father assisted my mother when she courageously gave birth to me in the comfort of our home. The stories of her strength and bravery have inspired me to pursue a career in birth work as I work towards my dream of becoming a midwife.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I have been complimented on many occasions of my determination in my career, my comforting presence, and willingness to adapt to situations.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: The Empowered Birth Project, Birth Without Fear, Cradled Creations
What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: I see love, dedication, sacrifice, and adoration. So much precious love goes into each and every baby, and I hope blessing will shower that family and surround that baby with success and health.
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: As a birth worker, the best gift I can give a new mom is words of love, empowerment and strength.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Call the Midwife
What is your favorite place to vacation?: I would love to be anywhere with lots of sunshine, coffee shops, and breathtaking sunsets.
What is your favorite food?: I my favorite food is sushi!
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: On a day off, I like to spend it relaxing and taking time to appreciate myself.
Who lives in your house?: I live with a few roommates in a cute little home in the heart of the City of trees.
