Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Of course, having my own children, and working as a nanny, daycare centers, and just simply spending time with friends with young children.
What led you to become a Doula?: I've always loved babies and children, and have been around them all of my life as a nanny, nursery school teacher, worked in daycares, etc. But it is when I had my own children back to back, (1 year apart) I realized how much I myself needed support as a new mother, and how valuable that was. A dear friend came over to my home to help me with the transition. She did everything a doula would do, without even realizing it! It was inspiring. So I knew I would do this work one day!
