Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I started out my professional career as a nanny and childcare provider in high school and while getting through college. Over the last 20 years I've served children, youth and families in numerous capacities including Montessori educator, family support worker, and parent coach. I am a Certified Labor Doula, Certified Montessori Early Childhood and Montessori Parent-Infant Educator, and Certified Breastfeeding Educator and will receive my Postpartum Doula Certification by Fall 2022. I launched Kindred Additions Doula Services in 2022 in order to better serve, encourage and advocate for families in a way that works best for them, as they prepare for a new addition to their home. I've been working throughout the state of Nebraska through my consulting service, Generational Strategies LLC since 2017 as a professional trainer, facilitator and family advocate for families and family serving organizations; with a primary focus on providing resources and preventative supports to parents and former foster youth.

What led you to become a Doula?: My own birth experience and work with families led me to become a birth professional. I had a desire to support birthing individuals and families in education, support and just being heard in the decisions and desire they have for childbirth and parenthood. Becoming a doula seemed like a good fit and transition in this stage of my life and career.
