Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I’ve been a massage therapist since 2001 and enjoy helping people feel comfortable and take away any pain or discomfort they may be feeling. Because Of my massage background I have studied and learned how the body works through fitness/ nutrition and massage. Body work is important not only for everyone but especially during pregnancy and postpartum. Balance of the body is crucial.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have been a massage therapist for almost 20 years and I have always cared for and been very nurturing to everyone around Me. I helped care for my grandfather in the final years of his life which really led me down the path to want to make a difference helping people and I decided to flip that and start by helping mamas and babies come into this world peacefully and supported. By the time I had my first birth I was hooked and on love Wirh every part of it and remember saying to myself “I can’t believe it, this is my JOB!”

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

“She will uplift you, encourage you, empower you and guide you and be there with you through this incredible experience.” Heather Morton
“She was extremely detailed and thorough with her process, which put me at ease knowing exactly how she could help me. Tiffany is extremely knowledgable about all things pregnancy, birth and postpartum and I learned a lot from her.” Sarah Granelli
“She is incredibly hands on, and offers so much wisdom and encouragement.” Carley Tenery
“The back massages…Y’ALL, you have gotta let her give you a back massage! She jumped right in and rubbed my back…for hours upon hours.” Shawna Scheibel

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: Spinning babies, Birthing from within, Ina Mays guide to childbirth, Penny Simpkin The Birth partner, Bradley Method, The first forty days, Homeopathic medicines for pregnancy and childbirth. What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: wonder if she had a doula? ;) Who was her provider and what’s her birth story like? How is she doing mentally, physically, emotionally and does she have support around her.

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: A home cooked meal! I always take my postpartum families some kind of fresh soup or hot meal. Checking in on the parents in person if possible and being there to just listen, work, help, give advice. Be whatever it is in that moment they need! Every day is different! I always tell my clients at first you can only take it an hour at a time and eventually day to day and that’s ok! Your all learning together.

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Call the midwife. Any cooking show and Flea Market Flip is so addicting!

What is your favorite place to vacation?: The mountains, love the fresh air end silence!

What is your favorite food?: I love to cook so really any home cooked meal and anything my grandma bakes ( she only bakes with lard) :/

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Spend time with family as much as possible and sometimes just taking a bit of me time with my workouts, being outdoors or getting out to a farmers market And planning an amazing dinner.
