Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I’ve been a massage therapist since 2001 and enjoy helping people feel comfortable and take away any pain or discomfort they may be feeling. Because Of my massage background I have studied and learned how the body works through fitness/ nutrition and massage. Body work is important not only for everyone but especially during pregnancy and postpartum. Balance of the body is crucial.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have been a massage therapist for almost 20 years and I have always cared for and been very nurturing to everyone around Me. I helped care for my grandfather in the final years of his life which really led me down the path to want to make a difference helping people and I decided to flip that and start by helping mamas and babies come into this world peacefully and supported. By the time I had my first birth I was hooked and on love Wirh every part of it and remember saying to myself “I can’t believe it, this is my JOB!”

Checking in on the parents in person if possible and being there to just listen, work, help, give advice. Be whatever it is in that moment they need! Every day is different!
