Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My degree is in Education. I actually think having an education degree prepared me for childbirth education and the informational side of birth work. I also think it helped with the psychology of why we make the choices we do.
What led you to become a Doula?: I had a rough first birth where I felt very alone and terrified. I felt like I was not only missing support but also information that would've been helpful to me as a first time, young mom. I figured there was something out there that helped birthing persons have that support!
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
Wonderful support, very helpful and informative, helped us achieve our goals.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?:
What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?:
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Unbiased support. :) (Honestly, just a statement "you're doing a great job" is one of the most impactful gifts I can give new parents.)
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Friends or Scrubs
What is your favorite place to vacation?: Thailand
What is your favorite food?: Thai food
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Hiking with my family.
Who lives in your house?: Myself, my husband, and our 4 children.
