Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Hello! I've been serving the women of New Mexico involved in birth work for 27 years. I have been certified childbirth educator, am a certified labor doula and am now pursuing a 2nd childbirth education certification with ProDoula. I am the director of a doula collective in Albuquerque, New Mexico and a prenatal instructor at a large hospital. I am very excited to add ProDoula certification to my resume.

What led you to become a Doula?: After my first 2 babies and learning so much "on the job" I wanted to share what I had learned with other women and encourage them to be informed and empowered consumers in the birthing world. I had a lot of support for family and friends as I ventured into parenting but I knew everyone did not and I wanted to be there, to come alongside women and offer a helping hand, encouraging words and information to new moms.
