Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: From the 5 different personal birth and postpartum experiences I have had, every one of them helped me grow in the knowledge of options and the exceptional ability to provide the much needed unconditional support every family needs. With over 8 years of experience as a Doula, working as the owner of a full service doula agency, as well as a member of the ProDoula Training and Development team, it's more than safe to say that doula work is where my heart is.
What led you to become a Doula?: My desire to serve families during labor, delivery, and postpartum started well before I experienced that life altering time myself. After giving birth to our son and caring for him as an infant with very little support, that drive to provide families with what is all too often missing only grew.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
In addition to having been complimented on being trustworthy, unbiased, and relaxed in tense situations, I have been forever nicknamed as St. Whitney the Calm by a former client. It’s an alternate name for myself that I hold dear and may or may not use as a reminder when necessary <3
