Annie started her career as a doula in 2011. She quickly saw an unmet need in her community for unbiased and professional doula support, which led her to opening Pacific Northwest Doulas. A natural teacher, she leads and trains others with respect and solid information. Annie volunteers in her community as a trainer on the topic of child abuse prevention and within the local foster care community.
Expertise as related to the Labor Doula Course Offering: Annie has been a labor doula for 8 years and a childbirth educator in a local hospital for 3 years. Throughout her time as a doula, she has worked with well over 250 families through their experiences in pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Annie has developed excellent working relationships with hospitals and medical staff during her career. She also uses her experience and passion for bereavement work to support families and train both medical staff and fellow doulas.
As an early childhood educator, Annie has spent 25+ years working with young families on a professional level. She trained and certified as a Postpartum and Infant Care Doula with ProDoula after seeing the significant need for unbiased, experienced support for new parents. She uses both her training and her many years of experience to provide local families with the care they need. A lifelong learner, Annie seeks to gain new information on a constant basis. She has taken additional courses on baby wearing, postpartum mood disorders, cloth diapering, sleep methods, and infant feeding,
