Meet Your Doula Trainer

With over 15 years of experience, I am a compassionate doula, educator, and person, in general, committed to empowering and uplifting families throughout their parenting journey. I deeply believe in honoring each person, living an individual life experience, in and outside of my professional life. I actively choose to support all family dynamics throughout any type
of birth and to do so intentionally, every single time. As the founder of Doula Differently, I offer personalized, evidence-based, and judgment-free support, ensuring every individual feels seen, heard, and respected. My approach blends education, real-world experience, and hands-on care –from fertility to postpartum.

Professionally, I practice Doula and Educator work full-time. I consider myself not only extremely lucky to be able to do something I love, but also to have achieved a level in this work through my personal dedication and support of others who came before me and those who walk beside me to this day.

When I’m not elbow-deep in doula work I absolutely adore:
● Advocating for equality and supporting those stepping into and living in their
authenticity
● Spending time with my partner, Joseph
● Loving on our two rescue pups – Maxwell Xavier, the pittie who steals hearts, and
Dovah, meaning dragon, who embodies anything but that as a 7lb chihuahua.
● Painting and other forms of mixed media artwork
● Practicing mindfulness + meditation daily
● Hanging with my fam’
● Eating Indian food
● Snuggling with my god children
● DIYing ALL THE THINGS!

I strongly believe in giving back to our community and watering where we are planted. Those are just two reasons I started the Doula Differently Mentorship Program and why a portion of each client fee goes directly back into community programs, focusing strongly on BIPOC and other marginalized communities. However, there came a day where mentoring wasn’t enough. I wanted more and I wanted to give future birthworkers and doulas more. I wanted to become a trainer and I wanted to
do so within the organization I had fallen deeply in love with and was abundantly supported
by, ProDoula. Learning a data driven standardized curriculum that values all people in all walks of life was very important to me.

ProDoula had that, along with required cultural competency education that I truly believe helps me not just show up as the best doula for myself and my clients, but for the world. Knowing that I had access to real people; my trainers, online community, the home office, and more changed the game for me. It was exactly what I needed when I was working towards elevating my work in this field and as a person with more confidence as well. To me, as a trainer, it’s not just about equipping future doulas and educators with business skills, practical tools, and important up to date data. Although, you will proudly walk away
with that knowledge. It’s about encouraging learners to come as they are, to know that they are supported no matter where they are in this journey, and believing in them, sometimes even before they believe in themselves. It was done for me, genuinely, professionally, and regularly, and I am so excited to show up the same way as a trainer myself.
