Meet Your Doula Trainer

Based in the Chicagoland Area, Danyale Washington is a passionate advocate for families and doulas alike. Her journey into this work began long before she became a professional with nearly a decade of experience as a childcare provider and fueled by her own motherhood journey. Since 2018, she’s walked alongside countless families, offering the kind of compassionate, judgment-free care that bridges the gap so many new parents feel during the postpartum period and beyond.

Danyale’s practice blends evidence-based knowledge with heart-centered empathy. She’s known for her calming presence, deep understanding of family dynamics, and her ability to bring balance and reassurance to the often-overwhelming early weeks of parenthood.

Danyale’s mission extends far beyond the walls of her clients’ homes. As the founder of Sweet Piece Solutions, she has built a business dedicated to supporting families nationwide through postpartum doula care, attachment-based sleep support, infant feeding education, and parent coaching. Her work is guided by a simple but powerful belief: “It takes a village to raise a child and she is here to help families and doulas alike build theirs.”

Danyale brings that same heart and intentionality into every training space. Her teaching style is warm, inclusive, and empowering, grounded in mentorship and community. She creates spaces where doulas feel both challenged and supported, where their unique strengths are celebrated, and where professional growth is deeply intertwined with personal reflection.

Her approach to doula education is part professional development, part personal evolution. She believes that sustainable doulas create sustainable families, which means nurturing not just skill, but mindset, confidence, and cultural competency. Danyale is especially passionate about empowering birth workers of color and dismantling gatekeeping within the profession. Her goal is to uplift and elevate this field. For Danyale, being a trainer is about more than teaching skills, she believes doula work is where passion meets profession meets purpose. She cherishes witnessing that “lightbulb moment” when learners realize the magnitude of the work they’re stepping into. She often says, “The biggest mistake a leader can make is not knowing when to follow, yield, or serve.” She strives to lead by example, modeling that balance of humility and strength, encouraging doulas to lead with heart and serve with integrity.

When she’s not training or supporting families, you can find Danyale spending time with her two children (her greatest teachers) reading, crafting, or enjoying music and puzzles. Her life and work are guided by connection, community, and the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and confident as they navigate the ebbs and flows of life whether that be a friend, a colleague, a learner, or a client.
