Lacey is a passionate and driven member of the doula industry. Her path to the world of birth began when she was a high school teacher in Philadelphia. Her nonjudgmental support and classroom afforded her pregnant students a safe haven through their own pregnancy and parenting journey. Lacey’s natural affinity for guiding and comforting people continues to flourish in her career as a professionally certified doula and serves as a reminder of the importance of support from an unbiased person during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
She completed her first doula training in 2012 and has since served hundreds of families as a Certified Labor Doula, Postpartum and Infant Care Doula, and Infant Feeding Specialist. She moved on to join ProDoula in 2014 where she found that her personal philosophies on passion, success, and sustainability in the profession closely aligned with the organization’s own teachings.
Lacey’s ability too deeply connect and attune to people thought big life transitions has given her profound insight into the intensity and intricacies of the birth & postpartum journey. As a member of the ProDoula Training and Development Team, She brings these career insights and stories to every training she leads allowing all learners to have a deep understanding of the power and impact of this work.
As one student front a training noted, “Her passion not only for birth work but also for education and people, in general, was more than apparent. She did a phenomenal job of keeping everyone engaged.”
Lacey proudly owns Hampton Roads Doulas in Virginia. She lives with her husband in Rescue Virginia, a small fishing village where they tend to their homestead and all the furry and feather animals that reside on it.
