Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I graduated from Texas Christian University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2007, and began my career as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). There, I fell in love with caring for babies, and quickly learned that caring for baby meant caring for mom as well. I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2015 and a postpartum and infant care doula in 2020.
What led you to become a Doula?: I've always lived in the professional world of moms and babies, and having my own babies only highlighted the need for strong breastfeeding and postpartum support in today's fast-paced culture.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I’m calming, comforting, great with babies, and good at distilling information in a way that new mamas can take it in and process it without feeling overwhelmed.
