Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have travelled many roads that have all led me here- I am a Navy Veteran, proud member of the LGBTQ community & an avid lover of learning. I have had many wonderful, and some not-so-wonderful, experiences in my life with an array of people; This has taught me to appreciate the value of difference, and has given me a love for nurturing those around me.
What led you to become a Doula?: My interest in birth work was sparked in the beginning of my own journey to have a child. I tend to immerse myself in research when there is a topic at hand, and pregnancy and birth were subjects I couldn't get enough of. I realized that my love for this was not exclusive to my own journey, and that I wanted to help others navigate their own paths in the birth world.
