Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My background experience is that I worked an extended amount of years as part of a daycare. I also raised two adult daughters. I've always had a love for babies, especially newborns.
What led you to become a Doula?: My interest in becoming a birth professional began when I came across the term "doula" over the years I would come back to it when I was a part of corporate America. When I became aware of the Postpartum doula, I fell in love with the description of supporting mothers/babies and birthing families. Once I separated from my job becoming a doula was what I thought of first.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
The positive comments made by others happen whenever I mention the subject of becoming a postpartum doula. When it is someone that knows me, it is said that I have a calming spirit for it and will do well. It has been mentioned more than once that it comes naturally to me. Also that I am a great asset to the postpartum doula world providing comfort and support to birthing families.
