Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work:

What led you to become a Doula?: My entire life I grew up taking care of people out of responsibility and out of compassion. My older sister, Taylor, is disabled and in a wheelchair. With my mother being a single mother of 3 it was my responsibility to help care for my sister. I grew up in a family of healers, so I always knew which ever career I pursued that, one— I must enjoy, and two— I was destined to be a healer of some sort since it’s in my lineage. I made the choice to pursue doula work because I believe it’s a blessing being able to support mother’s and families through such a vulnerable and life-changing time. The perinatal experience is quite spiritual regardless of belief, birth is sacred.
