Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I was a nanny for over 10 years before transitioning to my doula career. Additionally, I have my Bachelors degree in Photography. Along with my work as a Postpartum Doula, I also offer infant and family lifestyle photography. I have also taken quite a few workshops, including a perinatal mood and trauma-informed workshop for doulas, and I became certified as an infant and family sleep specialist.

What led you to become a Doula?: After working with families in their homes for many years, it slowly became clear to me that the perinatal period is when families need the most support, especially during the postpartum period. I love working closely with families, and I especially loved working with parents of newborn children. I took a training out of curiosity and I instantly knew I was doing the right thing. Since then, I have felt like doing this work is right where I want to be.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

“Jordan is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but it’s not just what she knows – it’s who and how she is as a person that makes her so wonderful to work with. Jordan is kind, patient, and intentional in her work. She is thoughtful and observant and readily anticipates others’ needs.”

“From the moment Jordan walked into our home, I was struck by her calm, confident, and compassionate demeanor. She was someone I could sit with as I breastfed my son and share my feelings about motherhood without reservation, and Jordan knew just what to say, or not say, to provide the emotional support I needed. She fit perfectly into our home life, intuiting whether we needed support or privacy at a given moment.”
