Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Over the past 3 years, I have professionally worked with families while in the role of a Postpartum Doula

What led you to become a Doula?: Growing up, I was always the one helping to take care of the new babies in my family. Doing everything from changing diapers and swaddling them to even helping my mom when she was breastfeeding my little sister. I have always wanted to work close with expecting parents and new babies in some capacity. First I wanted to become an OB/GYN and help the birthing parent welcome babies earth side. I later learned about the role of being a Postpartum Doula and immediately fell in love, knowing this is what I have been placed here on earth to do.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

I am often described as someone who is easy to talk to, compassionate and detail oriented.

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: I love to stay current with evidence based information and best practices focused on subjects such as breastfeeding, safe infant sleep, different parenting styles and many other topics that allow me to help keep new parents informed so that they can make the best decisions for their family based on that information. A couple of my favorite websites are and

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: When I see a pregnant person, my first thoughts are, I hope they are getting the proper support and care they need during this time and I hope they have prepared support for the time coming after they give birth to their little ones. Often times no one talks to the new parents about the postpartum period which leads to being unprepared and sometimes overwhelmed. I just hope they are informed and cared for in the best possible way so they can be their best self.

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: The best gift that I can provide new parents with is empowerment in their new roles as parents by way of support as well as the ease of mind when I am caring for their new baby overnight so that they can get the proper rest necessary to be their best selves in the morning.

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: The Labyrinth

What is your favorite place to vacation?: Any cruise going to the Caribbean

What is your favorite food?: Mexican Food

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: If its a rainy day, I love to wrap up in my blanket on the couch and binge watch all kinds of shows on Netflix and if its a sunny day, I like to go out and have a good time with my cousin visiting a new restaurant.

Who lives in your house?: My sweet grandmother, aunt and I.
