Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have 6 years of babysitting and nannying experience, as well as being a parent myself. I understand the level of support that can be needed during the postpartum period.
What led you to become a Doula?: I have been interested in birth work since I was in high school. I was planning on doing doula work as I went through college and medical school to be a neonatologist. After having my son at 18 and experiencing the ups and downs of postpartum first hand I decided that my skills were best put to use as a doula.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
I have been told that I am a calming presence, a good listener, and dependable.

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: It warms my heart to see a pregnant person or someone with a new baby. I also feel for them because I know how the transition into parenthood can be intense and I hope that they have all the support they need!
What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: The best gift to give new parents is a judgement free space to talk about how they're feeling during this crazy time in their life, and a break self care and time to rest is so important for being able to do your best as a parent.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?: The Office and Parks and Rec
What is your favorite place to vacation?: Smith Mountain Lake or any beach
What is your favorite food?: Cheeseburgers or sushi
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: On a day off I love spending time playing with my baby, and being with my family and friends.
Who lives in your house?: My son and I live with my parents, brother, and dog.
