Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: Prior to my work as a doula, I was a music teacher and then a student mentor. These jobs taught me how to listen intently!
What led you to become a Doula?: A friend invited me as a support person to her birth. I was captivated by the experience! She encouraged me to consider doula work because she thought it was a perfect fit for my skill set. She was right. The more I do this work, the more I love it.
What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:
That I am kind & compassionate. Great at listening, attentive, organized, professional, respectful and genuinely want to know how you are doing.
What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: I love to read and research so my list of favs is long... A mix of great books and websites from a variety of preferences so that you can pick what works best for you.

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Whatever she needs in that moment that I can provide. Maybe that’s being a listening ear that offers non-judgmental support, helping her to find answers to the questions she is asking, encouraging her that she is doing a great job, or practical help like taking care of her home & baby so she can tuck in for a nap.
