Meet Your ProDoula
Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: One of my first experiences as a birthing coach was with a mother who called me when labor began. She and I delivered her baby in a hotel room. There was no time to think, baby was coming, active labor began almost immediately. I have done Postpartum and Bereavement Counseling with a mother who lost her baby in her 28th week. There has been Doula on the job training in my world for years. Now I am a Pro Doula trained and certified Doula in the following areas. Certifications; Pro Doula Certified Labor Doula, Certified Postpartum and Infant Care, Pre Certified Infant Feeding Educator American Red Cross Adult and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED Certified
What led you to become a Doula?: I have diligently trained and been certified to do a work that I have done over the last 35 years as an act of love and concern. I have been a Doula without realizing there was a profession and certification for people who serve in this capacity. I am blessed and honored to now have the professional aspect behind my natural gifting. (Doula: one who serves)
