Meet Your ProDoula

Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: My training with Pro Doula has given me incredible knowledge and instilled in me confidence that will greatly benefit my work as a birth professional. I believe that my Psychology degree will also positively impact my work. While pursuing my degree, I learned valuable communication skills that improved my ability to communicate and establish good connections with people from different backgrounds.

What led you to become a Doula?: I have always had the desire to help people and improve their lives in some way. I always knew I wanted a career in serving others. I pursued a degree in Psychology, thinking that I would become a counselor, and that was my life plan up until the beginning of this year. I call it divine intervention, but birth work was heavy on my heart, so heavy that I could not ignore the calling. What started as a small flame of curiosity has grown into this fire of remarkable passion. Passion for learning about birth and the amazing things the human body can do. And a passion to support clients during such a vulnerable and sacred time, empowering them to see the strength that they hold. I know I was not meant to be a counselor like I previously thought; I was always meant to be a doula. My heart is devoted to comforting and supporting my clients.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?:

My friends and family have always praised me for my compassion and understanding. People have told me I am a great listener and have a peaceful energy.
